I'm travelling soon and would love to take it with me. Can I put lumi in my carry on and use it on the plane?

Yes and no. The LUMI app (strangely) won't run without an internet connection, at least as currently set up, but you can use the keyboard with other apps. On iOS you'll still need Bluetooth as a wired connection draws too much power; I expect it's the same story for Android. But a a wired connection to a laptop will work.
