• Why isn’t my keyboard connecting to the front Airwave ports?
    If your keyboard isn’t connecting, it's likely due to insufficient power. Ensure you're using the included 65W USB-C power supply. ROLI Piano's 30W power supply is not compatible.

  • Why aren’t my hands being tracked correctly?
    Try recalibrating Airwave, ensuring it's centrally aligned to your keyboard and within 70cm. Remove clutter, other MIDI controllers, and reflective surfaces. Adjust lighting, try different clothing, avoid overlapping hands, and try showing both hands. If a virtual hand is stuck, hover over it with the matching hand. If Airwave can't find a hand, wave your hand slowly above the keyboard and press a key with spread fingers. For non-ROLI keyboards, raise Airwave to the keyboard's height.

  • Why don’t I hear any sound from the headphone port?
    Ensure your computer or tablet's audio output is set to "Airwave Audio" and the volume is turned up. Also, make sure your headphones are securely connected.

  • Why isn’t my pedal working correctly?
    Check that "Pedal Type" and "Pedal Model" are set correctly in ROLI Dashboard. If the pedal behaves in reverse, check for a polarity switch or try reconnecting the pedal while your ROLI hardware is powered on.

  • Why isn’t calibration in ROLI Airwave Player working?
    Ensure the "Pitch Transpose" parameter in ROLI Dashboard is set to 0.

  • Why is Air Dimension visual feedback jumpy/glitchy?
    In ROLI Dashboard, ensure the keyboard isn’t in single-channel mode or configured with a very small number of MIDI channels.

  • Why doesn’t ROLI Dashboard recognise Airwave?
    Make sure ROLI Connect is updated to version 1.5.0 or later. If on Windows and stuck at version 1.2.2, download the latest version directly from the ROLI start page.

  • Why is my Mac getting hot when it’s asleep?
    Airwave continuously tracks hand movement when enabled, which can engage your Mac’s CPU. Check Airwave Control to see if tracking is set to "Always on" or "On Demand." If Airwave is unplugged, hand tracking will not be active.

  • Why can’t I see ROLI Airwave Player or ROLI Airwave Control after registering Airwave in ROLI Connect?
    Ensure ROLI Connect is updated to version 1.6.0 or later. If on Windows and stuck at version 1.2.2, download the latest version directly from the ROLI start page.

  • Why is Airwave changing preset in Arturia Analog Lab?
    This may be due to MIDI CC conflicts. Airwave uses CC28 (Air Tilt Left) and CC29 (Air Tilt Right), which some third-party software may use for preset switching.

  • Why is ‘Hold’ in ROLI Airwave Player not working in Ableton Live?
    In Ableton's 'Link, Tempo & MIDI Settings', ensure 'Control Surface' for 'ROLI Airwave Expression' is set to 'None'.

  • Why am I having issues activating the camera driver in Airwave Control when using macOS Sonoma 14.3?
    If you experience issues with Sonoma 14.3, please update to Sonoma 14.7.8 or newer.

  • Why can’t I see my hands in ROLI Airwave Player?
    If you previously purchased a Leap Motion controller, check if you have the Ultraleap Hand Tracking app still installed and uninstall it.

  • How does Airwave adapt to players with fewer fingers?

Airwave’s tracking likely won't “break” if a finger is missing. The system may treat missing digits as if they’re curled or out of view, and there may be some instances, particularly when playing fast pieces, where you might see phantom movement. In the Learn app, within Learn Mode we’ve also introduced an option to turn off the finger correction feature. That means if you toggle this option, you won’t get stuck if you can’t use a specific finger; you’ll still be able to play through the song. Right now, the scoring system still takes fingering into account, so that’s an area we know we’ll need to refine further for accessibility. We don’t expect many users to encounter this situation, but we want to get it right. Accessibility is a big part of our mission, and we’re actively working to explore further improvements.
