This page details all of the changes made in each ROLI Studio update. It will be updated with new release notes as soon as each software update is available.


The current version is v.1.4.0. Please make sure you keep your software updated via ROLI Connect to get all the latest features and bug fixes.

ROLI Studio Player - Version 1.4.0 - Released May 16th 2024


Release notes:

  • Adds Seaboard Block M support (preset selection and MIDI mode selection using the side button plus a combination of keys).
  • Adds Preset voice mode (monophonic vs polyphonic) feature.
  • Adds Preset slide mode (absolute vs relative) feature.
  • Adds MPE auto-detection preset filter.
  • Fix option to Lock Seaboard BLOCK in Hardware Control.
  • Fix for ROLI Studio Player overwriting pitch bend value.

Known Issues:

  • Several issues on Ableton when changing MIDI mode settings on ROLI Studio Player.
  • No audio output when turning off MPE in Ableton. In order to fix, reload ROLI Studio Player on Ableton.
  • No audio output when changing channel number in Single Channel mode in Ableton.
  • ROLI devices get recognised as control surfaces in Ableton when connected by default. Change the MIDI Control Surface in Ableton preferences.
  • Issues syncing with ROLI devices when Dashboard and RSP are both open.
  • Auto detect filter misbehaves when Seaboard BLOCK has chords enabled.

ROLI Studio Player - Version 1.2.3 - Released: Jan 22nd 2021

  • LUMI SE support:
    • With Hardware Control enabled, the LUMI SE pitch bend and pressure modulation can be enabled and disabled in the Note Configuration window, found in the bottom-right corner of ROLI Studio Player.

ROLI Studio Player/Drums - Version 1.2.1 - Released: April 8th 2020


Release Notes:

  • VST3 support
  • Support for purchased and new soundpacks from the Sounds Store (ROLI Studio Player only)

Fixes and Improvements:

  • Fixed crash for older Windows machines (pre-AVX CPUs) when loading Strobe2/Cypher2 presets

Fixes and Improvements:

  • Live Block buttons were occasionally blank when connected to RSP

  • Cypher2 presets weren't always being recalled in Bitwig

Fixes and Improvements:

  • Missing Tools Tips from some parameters
  • Recorded MPE data did not always play back consistently in some DAWs
  • Loop Block image appeared when Live Block is connected
  • Some kits were not initialising correctly when recalling a DAW project
  • Logic project would recall a blank/colourless RSD preset with incorrect sound

Issues resolved in v1.0.0 from previous public beta version (v0.3.1):

  • Arpeggiator display on a Lightpad Block can’t display triplets
  • Lightpad Block macro controls only go between 3% and 96%
  • Text is truncated on smaller window sizes
  • GUI issues with Note Visualiser
  • Jerky response on Arpeggiator ‘Hits’ Parameter from a Lightpad Block
  • Chord 'Strum' control doesn’t reach far end of Lightpad Block
  • Stepping when moving filter value on effects
  • Effects XY control limits aren’t reachable on Lightpad Block
  • Arp doesn’t trigger all notes of a strummed chord
  • Slide can be unreliable when applied to arpeggiated notes
  • Arp is on by default
  • Irregular Arpeggiator rate with large buffer sizes

Known issues in v1.0.0:

  • Bluetooth connectivity can occasionally prevent hardware integration on Mac
  • Unable to launch ROLI Hardware Driver with specific environments
  • Pitch bend messages sent from a standard MIDI controller are unreliable with MPE presets
