This affects any CASIO keyboards that use the WU-BT10 Bluetooth adaptor to connect to a mobile device via Bluetooth.
This is a known Apple iPadOS behaviour and affects other apps, including GarageBand. It is not specific to ROLI software.
What's happening?
When an Apple Pencil or Apple Pencil Pro is connected to your iPad, Apple prioritises Bluetooth communication with the Pencil. This degrades the connection to CASIO keyboards using the WU-BT10 adaptor — audio may become garbled or cut out, and MIDI may stop responding, even though the device still shows as connected.
Workarounds
Option 1 - 'Forget' the Apple Pencil in Bluetooth settings.
This option fully removes the Pencil's Bluetooth connection until you pair it again.
- Open Settings → Bluetooth on your iPad
- Find your Apple Pencil or Apple Pencil Pro in the device list
- Tap the icon next to it
- Tap "Forget This Device" and confirm
Option 2 - Put the Apple Pencil into low-power mode.
This option keeps the Pencil paired but disconnected until you need it again.
- Place the Apple Pencil on a still, flat surface — do not move it
- Turn Bluetooth off on your iPad
- Wait 10–30 seconds for the Pencil to enter low-power mode
- Turn Bluetooth back on
