Current ROLI instruments don’t have built-in sound engines, so they won’t make sound on their own. Instead, they act as MIDI controllers – sending musical information to software instruments on your computer, tablet, or phone. The sound is then generated by the software you’re connected to.
To get started, we recommend testing in ROLI Studio:
Open ROLI Studio.
Click the hexagon icon at the top right to open Audio & MIDI Settings.
Check that:
Your ROLI device is selected in the MIDI input field.
Your audio output device and sample rate match your chosen output system (e.g. headphones, speakers, or audio interface).
If you’re still not hearing sound, please reach out our Support Team and let them know which device and software you’re using so we can help you troubleshoot further.
