Seaboard GRAND

Seaboard-GRAND-3-models white background

(From top) Seaboard GRAND Studio, Seaboard GRAND Stage, and Seaboard Limited First Edition.

The Seaboard GRAND – our debut instrument – iss handcrafted at our headquarters in London, UK, with our very own SEA interface offering unique expressive capabilities, such as Polyphonic Pitch Bend (or Glide) and Aftertouch (Press). We call these dimensions of touch.

The GRAND ships with Embedded Equator - our custom synth engine - built into the Seaboard, making it possible to play as a standalone instrument. You won't need to connect it to a computer to perform. It is powered with an included AC adapter.

The GRAND also ships with desktop Equator – the software version of our synth engine. Equator makes it possible to edit and customize existing sound presets on a compatible Mac or Windows computer, either by using it as a standalone application or as an AU/VST plug-in through your digital audio workstation (DAW) of choice. It may also be set up for use as a MIDI controller in hardware or software of your choice.

The models have different numbers of keywaves. The Studio has 37 keywaves, the Stage has 61 keywaves and the LFE has 88 keywaves. The Studio has two expression pedal inputs, and the Stage and LFE models have three expression pedal inputs.

The GRAND is no longer produced.

Seaboard RISE

The Seaboard RISE 49

The Seaboard RISE – released a year after the GRAND –  is produced in Ireland and expands on the SEA interface to include a fifth dimension of touch, Slide (Y-axis sensing). It is a powerfully expressive MIDI controller that can be connected to other MIDI class-compliant external synths with USB ports and/or MIDI. The Seaboard RISE can also connect wirelessly via Bluetooth to Mac OS and iOS devices. The RISE ships with desktop Equator and may also be used to control your software and hardware instruments. It is powered either by the included USB cable or a third-party AC adapter.

The RISE is currently available in two models – the RISE 25 (2-octave keywave range) and the RISE 49 (4-octave keywave range).
