ROLI Studio Player plug-in does not generate sound in Ableton Live 11

ROLI Studio Player 1.2.3 plug-in does not generate sound in Ableton Live 11

I have tried loading both the VST3 and AU versions of the plug-in, but they don't produce any sound when MIDI notes are played in record mode or playback mode.
I have tried ROLI Studio Player with both the LUMI Studio SE and other third party controllers - nothing works.
Plug-ins from other vendors work just fine.
