Since ROLI Connect v1.0.11 and ROLI Studio v1.2.1, we've introduced soundpack support for existing Equator NOISE presets, as well as for Strobe2, Cypher2 and Equator2 soundpacks. Please read the following information below carefully to ensure you're able to update successfully.

If you’re installing ROLI Connect for the first time, you can download it here for Mac or Windows.

Please ensure you're running the latest version of ROLI Connect before attempting to update to the latest version of ROLI Studio. Should you encounter any issues, please speak to our support team.

ROLI Studio Player installation

We recommend waiting until all soundpack installations have finished before launching ROLI Studio Player for the first time, to ensure all of your sounds are in place. We also recommend ensuring you have at least 3GB of free space on your hard drive before installing ROLI Studio Player to account for any additional soundpacks that may be installed. If you happen to launch ROLI Studio Player before all of the soundpacks have finished downloading and notice that some are missing, don’t worry - simply quit ROLI Studio Player, wait for ROLI Connect to display that all soundpacks have been installed successfully, then launch ROLI Studio Player again.

Installing new soundpacks

You can install your soundpacks directly from ROLI Connect to use in ROLI Studio Player, and browse and obtain new sounds from the Sound Store

Once you have purchased your soundpack(s), open ROLI Connect and log in with your ROLI account details (if you haven’t done so already.

Click the Sounds tab, which will reveal your purchased soundpacks. Please note that each individual soundpack in a collection is displayed here, as opposed to the entire collection. If you already own soundpacks that you previously purchased with the NOISE app, the vast majority of these soundpacks will also now be available to install, containing all Equator presets from these soundpacks.

Click the “Install” button on the right of each soundpack name to begin downloading and installing the soundpack. Alternatively, if you have multiple soundpacks that you wish to install at once, you can use the “Install All” button at the bottom of the ROLI Connect window. Please note that if you own many soundpacks, this can be an intensive process and as such requires a stable and fast internet connection - we recommend downloading each pack individually if you’re on a slower connection.

In the event that a soundpack does not appear in ROLI Studio Player as you would expect, you can re-install the soundpack by heading to the Sounds tab in ROLI Connect, clicking the "Uninstall" button next to the soundpack, and then clicking the green "Install" button when it appears.

FAQs

I’ve bought a Soundpack in NOISE, can I access it in ROLI Studio?

Yes - if you log into ROLI Connect with the same account you originally purchased the NOISE soundpack with, you will be able to install the ROLI Studio Player version of the pack which will grant you access to all Equator presets from that pack in ROLI Studio Player.

Where are my Drums sounds from my NOISE soundpacks?

Only Equator presets from NOISE soundpacks are supported in ROLI Studio.  However, ROLI Studio Drums features 16 exclusive drum kits that were not previously available in NOISE, that take advantage of an updated drum engine.

I've bought a Soundpack in NOISE that is in one of the Collections, do I have to buy the whole Collection to access the Soundpack in ROLI Studio Player?

No - you’ll still have access to each soundpack you purchased in NOISE, regardless of whether they’re in a Collection or not. If you wish to obtain the rest of the soundpacks within a specific Collection, you can choose to either purchase the remaining soundpacks in NOISE or purchase the Collection in the Sound Store.

Some of my soundpacks aren't appearing in ROLI Studio Player

In the event that any presets or soundpacks should go missing from ROLI Studio Player, please do the following:

  1. Check that you bought a Collection or Soundpack. Collections contain multiple soundpacks of different names. You can see what is in your collection by going to the Sound Store and clicking on the Collection.
  2. Check that ROLI Connect has updated to at least v1.0.11. If it hasn't, quit ROLI Connect and re-launch it, and the update should happen automatically within 5 minutes.
  3. Once you can see the "Sounds" tab in ROLI Connect, click it to reveal your list of soundpacks.
  4. For any packs that don't appear in ROLI Studio Player, do either of the following:
    • If the soundpack says "Install", click this button to install the soundpack successfully.
    • If the soundpack says "Uninstall", click this button until the green "Install" button appears, then click this to install the soundpack successfully.

I already own a Strobe2/Cypher2 Expander from FXpansion but can't see it in ROLI Studio Player

If you already own a Strobe2 or Cypher2 Expander, you'll need to request an equivalent ROLI licence for these to be displayed in ROLI Studio Player. Please speak to our support team, letting them know your FXpansion and ROLI account details, and they'll be able to add a licence accordingly.

Can I use these sounds in the full versions of Strobe2, Cypher2, Equator or Equator2?

Soundpacks installed via ROLI Connect will automatically be added to their respective sound engines. If you don't see the Soundpack listed in the synth's browser, please ensure that all software is fully updated then try again.
