You can set the way in which Equator expects to receive MIDI in the MIDI/MPE settings under the main menu in the top-right (☰).
Usually you will leave these settings at their default, but they can be very useful for particular configurations or when using Equator with other MIDI controllers.
When using the Seaboard with Equator, ensure that the settings in ROLI Dashboard always match with the settings in the MIDI/MPE settings in Equator.
Set MPE to ‘On’ to use Equator with an MPE-compatible MIDI controllers, like the Seaboard. What is MPE?
This range determines the channels on which Equator will expect to receive MIDI.
When MPE mode is on, this channel will host all global control messages (like pedals and preset switches), and will automatically select the next channel below the Channel Range.
Note Pitch Bend
The Pitch Bend Range applied to individual notes when performing polyphonic pitch bends (Glide).
Global Pitch Bend
The Pitch Bend Range applied to all notes when performing pitch bend globally, for example, when using a Pitch Bend wheel on a MIDI Controller.
Allows you to select the MIDI controller you wish to use with Equator.
Auto Connect to Seaboard
Connects to your Seaboard automatically when it is detected by the computer.
Send Expression Settings to RISE
The exact positions of the RISE’s Expression Faders are saved in each Equator preset. Selecting this option allows Equator to communicate with the RISE and adjust the Expression Faders with each preset. De-selecting this option means that your RISE’s Expression Faders will remain where you set them regardless of the preset being used.
